Music Ministry

Welcome to the wonderful
world of music!
God has put a song in our heart.  It is the sweet, sweet song of salvation.  Even in a dissonant world, God has put a joyful melody on our lips and enriched this melody with heavenly harmonies.  It is a pleasure to introduce to you the Praise and Worship Ministries of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.  Feel free to call Terry at 706.820.1911 or e-mail.

Praise and Worship Choir
The Praise and Worship Choir is the backbone of our worship ministries.  These men and women are the primary worship leaders each week in our services.  They have been set apart to lift the name of Jesus in music and usher in the presence of the Holy Spirit as He visits our services.
   

Praise Team
The Praise Team is a group of singers who originally began singing for our Contemporary Worship Service.  however, the team has been involved with several major projects in the last couple of years.  They have performed at the Hamilton Place Mall, at other churches and have sung in our worship services.

The group is made up of current and former choir members and recently several youth have sung with the group.  membership is by invitation of the Minister of Music and requires a certain level of musical knowledge.

The group rehearses only when working on special projects at this time.
   
Praise and Worship Orchestra
The Praise and Worship Orchestra follows the Old Testament example of "...praising Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and the lyre, praise Him with the tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the string and the flute..."

 

The orchestra is for advanced High School and adult players.  Instrumental music greatly enhances our worship.  the orchestra accompanies all hymns and choruses; plays on all choir specials and provides instrumental music for preludes and offertories.  

The orchestra has played at the mall, for the Trunk-or-Treat Night in October and was featured with a 200 voice community choir in the first annual "Hearts in Harmony" concert in February 2005.

The orchestra meets on Wednesday nights at 6:00 P.M.

Technical Ministry
The Technical Ministry also manages technical needs for our productions away from the church campus.  You can be a part of this team as a volunteer.  For more information, contact Technical Ministries Chairman Jack Garner or Music and Administration Pastor, Terry Chitwood

Drama
The Drama Ministry of CVBC is still in it's infancy.  Drama has played a major role in several productions including, "The Gospel According to Scrooge" and "The Promise: The Life of Christ".  Drama has also been used to enhance worship services by the use of vignettes and selected readings.

There is a need for a Coordinator in this ministry.  If you feel that God has gifted you, contact the Minister of Music at 706.820.1911

Purpose Statement
The Praise and Worship Ministries of CVBC exist to lead people in exalting the name of Jesus Christ in worship, both corporate and individually:

- to involve all who will make themselves available in demonstrating God's love through service.

- to show Christ's love for all men by reaching out to those around us.

- to promote an awareness of the needs of our people y providing fellowship in the Body of Christ.

- and by using whatever means necessary to help people become more like Jesus.
